I am a designer, a design educator, and a doctorate student theorizing design while immersed in the open design of my own learning process. I am intrigued by the creative act (design), the process of growth and change (learning), the lived life with the horizons of human experience (life-worlds), and the structural interrelationships of worlds within worlds (systems). These various disciplines of inquiry and practice have emerged over time to form a perspective of life, the universe and everything (to borrow Douglas Adam’s pithy phrase), which I have in mind to make a long-term project of exploration, discovery, invention and application.

While I’m not at all clear about a possible thesis, boundary conditions, or research heuristics, my plan is to use this blog as a place to work out my thinking over the course of my doctoral studies and perhaps beyond..
